While reflexology is not intended to diagnose, treat or cure medical conditions, many people find that regular treatments provide valuable time to relax, recharge and reconnect with themselves. Each treatment is tailored to your individual needs, creating a supportive space for both physical and emotional wellbeing.
What happens during my first appointment?
Your first appointment includes a confidential consultation where we'll discuss your health, lifestyle and what you'd like to gain from your treatment. This allows me to tailor each session to your individual needs. You'll then relax comfortably while I carry out your reflexology treatment in a calm and peaceful environment.
Do I need to remove all of my clothing?
No. Reflexology is a non-invasive treatment, and only your feet and bottom of your legs ideally (or hands and arms, if appropriate) need to be accessible. You'll remain fully clothed throughout your appointment, apart from removing your shoes and socks.
Is reflexology painful?
Reflexology should generally feel relaxing and comfortable. Some areas of the feet may feel more sensitive than others, but the pressure is always adapted to your comfort. Most clients leave feeling deeply relaxed.
How long does a treatment last?
A standard reflexology appointment lasts approximately 60 minutes. Your first visit may take a little longer to allow time for your consultation.
How many treatments will I need?
This varies from person to person and depends on your individual circumstances and wellbeing goals. Some clients enjoy reflexology as an occasional treat, while others choose regular appointments to support their ongoing wellbeing.
Is reflexology suitable during pregnancy?
Yes, reflexology can be a wonderfully relaxing treatment during pregnancy when provided by a suitably qualified practitioner. Treatments are always tailored to your stage of pregnancy and your individual needs. If you're unsure whether reflexology is suitable for you, please feel free to get in touch.
Can children have reflexology?
Yes. Children's reflexology is a gentle, age-appropriate treatment tailored to each child. A parent or guardian must remain present throughout the appointment if they are 16 or under.
Are there any times when reflexology isn't suitable?
There are certain situations where reflexology may need to be adapted or postponed. During your consultation, we'll discuss your medical history and any current health concerns to ensure your treatment is safe and appropriate.
What should I wear?
Simply wear comfortable loose clothing. As the treatment focuses on your feet and lower legs, you'll only need to remove your shoes and socks.
